While growing up, weekend art shows and museums were the norm, as my mother and two of my aunts are artists. Those excursions into the world of art greatly influenced me to pursue art as a career.
I attended the Art Institute and the Uinversity of Florida, where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I then spent nearly a decade in the interior design trade, hand painting fabrics, murals and furniture. In my free time, I’d draw and paint as often as I could.
While I enjoyed that line of work, a move from one corner of the States to the other created an opportunity for me to explore other artistic avenues. I began teaching art and enrolled in a local pottery class.
Soon, clay and glazes joined the canvases and paints in my art studio. My colourful, whimsical pieces are influenced by sunny South Florida, while the more earthy, nature-inspired pieces reflect the lovely state of Washington where I now live.
